GTA 4 als FPS

Youtube-User Darkl3ad3r hat ein Video aufgenommen, wie er GTA 4 aus einer First Person Sicht spielt. Zwar in einigen Belangen unpraktikabel eignet sie sich aber hervorragend, um die ganzen Details der Umgebung einmal richtig wahr zu nehmen. Schon das Video zeigt eindrücklich, wieviel Mühe sich Rockstar dabei gegeben hat.
Wer GTA 4 für den PC hat, kann sich die Mod installieren und selbst in FPS-Sicht rumlaufen.

Place the "dsound.dll", "ScriptHook.dll", "ScriptHookDotNet.asi", "firstperson.asi", "firstperson.ini" and lastly the "systemtimesync.asi" files into your root GTA IV folder, the one which has the exe's "LaunchGTAIV.exe" and "GTAIV.exe".

For steam users this is in: "..\steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto iv\GTAIV\

For retail users this is in: "..\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar\GTAIV\"

In-game settings are shown at the beginning of video. System specs are as follows:
Intel Q6600 3.2GHz

I normally run the game at 1920x1200 but decided to drop it to 720p for recording purposes. FRAPS also chewed up a good amount of my framerate, bringing it down to approx 15-20.

Just a quick run through Time Square in first person perspective and some gun fights to demonstrate a mod allowing GTA IV to take on a FPS style gameplay. It adds a level of immersion that is undeniable even to people who've already played GTA IV through-and-through. I also have Time Sync up and running however I do not discreetly demonstrate it in this video. Niko: "Great Roman, I see you in next hour." With this mod you get a true 60 minutes of real life time to pick up your friends, ideal for avoiding the thumbs down reputation loss from already picking up a friend and having to turn down another. With this mod you can now enjoy having all the time in the world to play the game as you like. Both mods combined GTA IV now truly is a whole new gaming experience.
